China fat camp vs Thailand fitness camp: which for a month?

Visa rules and prices checked 29 October 2026 (Taipei time)

For a month of training abroad, the choice between a China fat camp and a Thailand fitness camp comes down to structure. This China fat camp on Hainan is one fixed 28-day programme with a private room, three meals a day and three classes a day included. Thai fitness camps usually sell training by the week and let you arrange the rest. Since 15 September 2026, US and UK passports get 30 days visa-free in both places.

A month in Hainan

What a month at the China fat camp includes

You arrive, the camp takes your body measurements, and coaches build a one-to-one training plan. Then the days run on a timetable: weigh-in at 08:00, classes at 10:00, 15:00 and 19:00 from Monday to Saturday, a two-hour rest after lunch and lights out at 22:00. Your room and three meals a day are part of the price, from $1,542 for 28 days, about $55 a day.

That structure is the point. You do not decide what to eat or when to train; you follow the plan for four weeks.

When a Thailand fitness camp suits you better

If you already know how to train and eat, want to choose your own classes, such as Muay Thai, CrossFit or yoga, or want to stay longer than a month on a different visa, a Thai camp gives you more freedom. You pick a gym, a room and your meals, and change any of them as you go.

When the China fat camp suits you better

If you want a month where every decision is made for you, with your room, food and training on one bill, the China fat camp is simpler. It also suits people who saw the Chinese weight-loss camps on TikTok and want that rhythm with a private bedroom. Booking is in English and you do not need WeChat.

Either way, a month of intensive training is for healthy adults. See your doctor first if you have a health condition or take regular medicine.

China fat camp vs Thailand: questions

China fat camp vs Thailand fitness camp: which is better for a month?

It depends on how much structure you want. A China fat camp like this one gives you a fixed day with your room and meals included. A Thailand fitness camp usually gives you a class timetable to choose from and leaves room and food to you. If you want everything decided for you, China fits; if you want to pick and mix, Thailand fits.

Do I need a visa for a month in Thailand?

Since 15 September 2026 Thailand’s visa exemption for 60 countries and territories, including the US, the UK, Canada and Australia, is 30 days for tourism, down from 60. Check the latest rules for your passport before you book.

Do I need a visa for a month in Hainan?

Citizens of 61 countries can stay in Hainan for up to 30 days without a visa when they arrive through a Hainan port and stay on the island. One 28-day programme fits inside that.

Can I book the China fat camp without WeChat?

No. You book entirely in English on this site: sign in with Google or your email, pay the deposit by card, and get your confirmation and arrival plan by email. You do not need WeChat, a Chinese phone number or a Chinese bank account to book, and the rest is paid at the camp by Visa card.

Which is cheaper?

Compare full four-week totals, not class prices. This China fat camp costs $1,542 to $2,532 for 28 days with room, coaching and three meals. For a Thai camp, add the training package, your accommodation and your food for the same four weeks.
